NEXGEN HOOPS 3X3 · SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA
THE PARENT HUB.
Welcome to NexGen Hoops. We’re here for kids who want to play basketball, build confidence, make friends, and feel like they belong — whether it’s their first season or their fifth. Explore our upcoming 2027 programs, meet the people behind NexGen, and look back at the seasons we’ve already shared.
01 / THE HEART BEHIND NEXGEN
Every kid deserves a place to play.
A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER & COMMISSIONER
Hey, I'm Mark.
I started NexGen Hoops because I wanted kids to have a place where they could simply enjoy basketball. Not every child walks onto a court feeling confident. Some are brand new. Some are still figuring out how to dribble, where to stand, or whether they even belong out there.
I want those kids to know they do belong.
As a parent, I know how much it means to see your child excited about something — to watch them make a friend, hit a shot, celebrate a teammate, or come home asking when they get to play again. Those are the moments I'm trying to create.
NexGen is about real games, chances to improve, teamwork, and fun. We still want kids to compete and try their best. But nobody should feel like they have to be the best player on the court just to be part of it.
Thanks for considering NexGen for your family. I hope we get to see your child out there.
— Mark, Founder & Commissioner

06 / HOW WE PLAY
Small court. Big opportunity.
NexGen uses recreational, half-court 3-on-3 basketball. These are the formats used for our completed 2026 seasons; full 2027 rules will be shared with families before play begins.
01 · Summer League
Our Summer 2026 games used three five-minute halves — 15 minutes of play.
02 · After-School League
Our Fall 2026 after-school games used two five-minute halves — 10 minutes of play.
03 · Real 3-on-3
Three players per team share a half-court, with substitutes rotating in as appropriate.
04 · Meaningful Playing Time
We aim for balanced rotations and opportunities for every child to get involved.
05 · Teamwork & Respect
We're here to compete, learn, cheer for each other, and treat every player with respect.
06 · Family Communication
Registered families receive important schedule, weather, and program updates by email.
07 / PARENT FAQS
Questions? We've got you.
Does my child need basketball experience?
No. NexGen is designed for beginner and intermediate players. It's okay to be nervous, to miss shots, or to still be learning the basics. Showing up ready to try and be a good teammate is what matters.
What programs are coming next?
Spring 2027 After-School League and Summer 2027 League. Both are currently planned for grades 3rd–5th, with six-week programs. Dates and locations are still to be determined.
How much is registration?
Both Spring 2027 After-School League and Summer 2027 League are planned at $200 per child. Registration isn't open yet.
Can I register right now?
Not yet for the 2027 seasons. Use the "Ask for Updates" button on the program you're interested in to email us. We'll share the correct new TeamSnap registration link once enrollment opens. Please don't use our archived 2026 signup forms for a 2027 season.
Is the league coed?
Yes, boys and girls are welcome in our recreational programs.
How are teams made and playing time handled?
We try to create balanced teams by considering the players who sign up and their experience when possible. Because every group is different, we can't promise that every game will be perfectly even. We do work toward fair rotations, meaningful participation, and an environment where all kids have a chance to contribute.
Where will the games be?
Our 2027 locations are still TBD. NexGen operates in San Jose. For reference, Summer 2026 was played in the Willow Glen area and Fall 2026 was at River Glen. We'll email registered families the confirmed details before the season begins.
How will parents get updates?
By email. We'll send registered families important schedules, reminders, location information, and any changes that affect their child's program. Please use an email address you check regularly when you register.
What happens if there's rain or extreme heat?
Our outdoor programs depend on safe court and weather conditions. If rain, heat, or another issue makes it unsafe to play, we may adjust, shorten, postpone, or cancel a session. We'll let registered families know by email as soon as we have an update.
Where can we see previous seasons?
Open League History right here in the Parent Hub. You can explore Summer 2026 and Fall 2026 games, standings, season awards, and the available player stats.
Are player stats updated automatically?
No. Our scores and stats are entered manually from NexGen records. We clearly label historical results and any figures that still need verification.
Can I ask about a photo or my child's information on the site?
Absolutely. Email NexGenHoops@yahoo.com with any concerns about a child's name, photo, or statistics, and we'll work with you to address them.
